Hangline
Discord for College Students
You gotta be a little crazy to do this, but our team launched a full blown Slack/Groupme challenger. That’s like a team of a handful taking on 100+ b valued Slack and Microsoft. The cool thing is we won some skirmishes. Presently Hangline has all the biggest chats at Harvard undergrad on it by member count. Android, IOS, and desktop versions. +1000 member person chats, supports files, etc — still figuring out virality.
Playbook - Get Offline
Who said we didn’t try to get you off your phone? ;)
Check it out: offlineisbetter.com
It was 2018. FB scandals had hit and people said they wanted to be off their phones. Sweet! We put our money where our mouth was and built this full blown app to get people hanging in IRL — novel I know. How it worked was that you could post spontaneous ‘Plays’ to other college students around you and then you could hang out. What we found is that people didn’t really want to hang out with people they didn’t know and actually — surprise — love their phones. But, hey, we went for it!

ProfessorPass.com
Modeled like moviepass, I built this for continuing education where community members could pay to get dinner with area academics. We did the unit economics on it and it didn’t make sense, but still would love to see someone run it or somethings similar to it!

Learnnewthingsonline.com
Post college, it gets hard to have structured guides on how to learn new things. I whipped this site up over a weekend to see whether there was an opportunity to open source syllabi. I think there’s probably a lot legal things to navigate here, but I would love to see someone make this check it out
Almost Crypto Hedge Fund
Nothing to check out here, haha
C’mon - it was September 2017. Who wasn’t sleeping with the comfort of raw computing power on an inflatable air mattress? While this thing never, took off, it was an unbelievable scheme. Favorite highlights were getting regular Kong Lemon Chicken with Rohan, watching our crypto soar and crash (but to only to inevitably rise again ;) ), and watching Stephen advise the world’s crypto firms. That miner was bound for Vietnam before the plunge, for which we can only image it’s in SG to this day making Amrullah a computationally wealthy man. Low key still think this would be awesome…
